Carlos Sainz: From Madrid Matador to Ferrari Royalty

The Early Years

Carlos Sainz Jr. was born in Madrid, Spain on September 1, 1994. His father, Carlos Sainz Sr., is a two-time World Rally Champion. Sainz Jr. began his racing career in karting, and quickly rose through the ranks. He won the Formula BMW Europe championship in 2011, and the Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship in 2014.

Formula 1 Career

Sainz made his Formula 1 debut with Toro Rosso in 2015. He quickly showed his potential, scoring points in his first race. In 2016, he moved to Renault, where he finished sixth in the drivers' championship. In 2017, he joined Red Bull, where he finished fifth in the drivers' championship.

Ferrari

Sainz joined Ferrari in 2021. He finished eighth in the drivers' championship in his first season with the team. In 2022, he finished fifth in the drivers' championship.

Personal Life

Sainz is married to Isabel Hernaez. The couple has two children. Sainz is a keen golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
